songs: Suddenly Clear
Written circa 2006 while on tour in Victorville. I can remember being interrupted halfway through by a young boy who was calling me derogatory names implying that I was a homosexual. One of my bandmates chased him off so I could continue writing.

Suddenly I am older, now
Suddenly all my walls are down
I’m naked and I’m free
And I don’t care
‘Cause I know I believe in me
My debts are paid
My love is past
And I don’t mind much
‘Cause I know that
I’m everything I need
Reality is easy
[c]
And time is old
I guess I’m young
But I still know
That time is what you make it while you’re here
So love your own
Then love whatever else you want
‘Cause love don’t break your heart
It breaks your fear
Every man should know
It seems so clear
Suddenly I’ve been lost and found
Suddenly I’ve been turned around
I see the other side
But I don’t know one thing about Jesus Christ
It was a personal discovery
Something one must seek to see
And see all on their own
I really should have known
[c]
Suddenly I’m inspired
Oh, suddenly I have found the fire
And I could burn you all
But I’m indifferent so I’ll keep it to myself from now on.
