songs: So High

We were sitting around high, and my friend Fingers said he wanted to watch me write a song. So, I wrote this one, about him.

Fingers was a boy
Living ordinary life
Until he met a friend
Who would open up his eyes
Sweet Mary Jane came
A cherried star cut through the night
And he got so, so high

It wasn’t very long
Until that star came crashing down
And the world he knew before was gone
It had changed somehow
Sweet Mary Jane sang
Him a Smokey lullaby
And he got so, so

[c]
High
He got so, so high
And if you haven’t tried
You don’t know what it’s like.

Fingers thought he’d found
His instant peace-of-mind
He’d crawl inside a joint
To meet his own divine
Sweet Mary Jane, blame
Does not appeal to her design
Cause she is so, so

[c]

He thought he’d play along
With her soulful groovy ways
But his friends saw he had gone into the haze
“Sweet Mary Jane,” he said
“We are one
For you have saved me

I’m so high. I am so, so high”.

Meditation, masturbation, exercise and caffeination
We’ve all got intoxication
So don’t you lie…
Mary Jane’s the same type
And she is so, so high.
