songs: A Place I’ll Never Know
Written sometime circa 2005, this song is about the first of many experiences that a psychiatrist would later refer to as my "manic depressive episodes". I'm still not sure what name I'd chose for that particular state of being, but the title of this song seems to say it well enough.
I found this place
It was dark as death
‘Cause the walls don’t let the light come through
No the walls don’t let no light
And I was falling down
And you were there
You said, “Baby, I will guide you through
Just take my hand.”
And I said, “How far, how far down does it go?”
Because I will never know
I will never know
Tell me how far, how far down did it go?
Because I will never know
I will never know
Who I was
Got locked away
I was not behind these eyes of blue
I was not behind these eyes
I was so far gone
I was in a haze
And time was blowing by me like
A winter's breeze
Well tell me How, How, How, How long did it blow?
Because I will never know
I will never know
Tell me how, how, how, how long did it blow?
Because I will never know
I will never know.
I’m in love with sound
Our music pulled me out
But I still don’t know
I still don’t know
What it was all about
But I got through somehow
And I still don’t know
I still don’t know
How far, how far down.
